Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director to serve as a therapeutic and disease expert, delivering balanced, non-product scientific information to Scientific Leaders (SLs) and guiding inquiries related to Company products. The role spans Scientific Exchange, Research, and Congress Support, ensuring alignment with approved and development-stage trials.

The position covers multiple states (IN, KY, WV, VA) with travel up to 50% and acts as a role model for field medical teams, onboarding

Formación

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic-area experience beyond degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of FDA, OIG, HIP requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Develops professional relationships and engages with national and regional SLs to ensure access to company-approved medical and scientific information on areas of therapeutic interest and Company products.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable presence with SLs to ensure they have a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries on issues outside of scope to appropriate company resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of dynamic scientific environment in AOIs for the Director’s therapeutic area.
• Initiates discussions with SLs and potential investigators to determine alignment with research strategies and study concepts.
• Identifies barriers to patient enrollment and retention to achieve milestones.
• Recommends study sites and investigators for phase II-IV programs and conducts Site Initiation Visits.
• Oversees protocol leadership in collaboration with GCTO and addresses questions from investigators.
