Full time Regional Medical Director - Hiring Immediately + Excellent Salary - Dallas, Texas area position

The Regional Medical Director will oversee a portfolio of 20-35 animal hospitals in the Dallas, TX area, serving as a key partner and resource for veterinary teams. This field-based role involves weekly travel within the region, allowing for hands-on support and collaboration with diverse practice teams. The Regional Medical Director will work closely with hospital staff to maintain high standards of patient care, optimize operations, and promote a positive and effective work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elevating Patient Care: Ensure that doctor interactions and medical protocols meet the highest standards of care across all hospitals in the region.
  • Team Development: Mentor and coach veterinary teams to foster a supportive, collaborative work culture.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve staff or client conflicts, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with leadership teams (Regional Directors, Practice Managers, Veterinarians) to streamline operations and enhance business performance.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure hospital operations are compliant with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Growth & Performance: Support the growth and success of each hospital by monitoring and optimizing transaction rates, pet count, and other KPIs.
  • Mentorship & Support: Offer guidance and support to new graduate veterinarians to help them succeed in their careers.
  • Operational Oversight: Perform regular hospital inspections, monitor trends, and provide ongoing support for continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinarian with a proven track record of leadership and a strong passion for animal welfare. The candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills and be comfortable managing multiple practices while collaborating with diverse teams.

This individual should be highly motivated, adaptable, and able to drive high-quality patient care while optimizing operational efficiency.

Location & Travel: This position requires regular travel within the Dallas area and the surrounding region. The successful candidate must reside within close proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to facilitate efficient travel.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program).
  • Active veterinary license in Texas (or the ability to obtain one).
  • DEA registration and good standing in the state(s) of employment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and collaborate with diverse veterinary teams.
  • Exceptional time management skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Dallas area.
