Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Regional Medical Director to lead the clinical team across facilities in the North East region. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality medical care, adherence to standards, and strong collaboration with facility leadership.

The position requires medical licensure, board certification, and leadership experience in correctional healthcare. The Regional Medical Director will drive policy implementation, oversee staffing, and ensure compliance with safety and care

Qualifications

• Current state license as an MD/DO.
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Current DEA license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Prior clinical leadership experience in correctional healthcare.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical care across facilities within the designated region.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state correctional health standards and institutional regulations.
• Communicate performance standards to Medical Directors within the designated region.
• Implement policy and protocol defined by Chief Medical Officer.
• Meet with Chief Medical Officer about quality of care, policy, procedure, and records issues; develop best-practice protocols.
• Participate in staffing decisions and ensure appropriate training for the scope of service.
• Provide Medical Directors with guidance in supervising facility medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management, oversight, adherence to federal and state correctional health care standards and institutional regulations and guidelines in the provision of medical care for the facilities within the designated region
• Follow established policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards
• Communicate performance and service standards and expectations to Medical Directors within the designated region
• Implement policy and protocol defined by Chief Medical Officer
• Meet with Chief Medical Officer about quality of care, policy, procedure, and records issues and develops best practice medical, clinical support staff, and process management protocols
• Participate in setting staffing levels in region and assures appropriate training for scope of service provided
• Provide Medical Directors with guidance in the supervision of the facility medical staff, including Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners

Qualifications

• Current state license as a MD/DO
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred
