Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Cape Coral, FL is seeking a friendly Medical Assistant Floater to support front office and clinical teams, ensuring efficient patient visits and compassionate care.

You will assist with patient intake, exams, procedures, and basic testing, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification is required (ongoing CE).
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience preferred; internship helpful.
• Current BLS certification.
• Familiarity with EHR systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake, including vital signs, history, medications, and allergies.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and tests.
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per protocol.
• Prepare and process labs and point-of-care tests.
• Maintain infection control and clinical equipment.
• Support patient triage, care coordination, and education on treatment plans.
• Document all care and updates in the EHR.
• Manage front office tasks: check-in, scheduling, and registration.
• Verify insurance, process authorizations, and collect copayments.
• Handle calls, referrals, records, and administrative tasks.
• Coordinate appointments and patient flow across providers.
• Review accounts and support billing processes.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
