Job summary

REGION 4 ESC in Houston seeks a Regional Coordinator for Secondary Mathematics to lead professional development and coaching for mathematics instruction across districts. This role drives improvement in student outcomes through curated resources, targeted services, and collaborative planning with school leaders.

The position requires a Master’s degree, Texas teaching certification, and a track record of growth in mathematics.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Texas Teacher Certificate for the appropriate content and grade levels.
• Mid-management or Supervisory Certificate, preferred.
• Five years of teaching experience in the area of secondary mathematics with a proven track record of measurable growth in student achievement.
• Three years of experience in developing and facilitating mathematics professional learning.
• Expertise in RBIS and knowledge of secondary mathematics pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional development.
• Provide one-on-one instructional coaching to teachers and administrators, as necessary.
• Collaborate with campus and school system leadership regarding the progress of mathematics instruction and achievement.
• Develop products to support improved student outcomes, as necessary.
• Provide technical assistance and services, in alignment with Region 4 processes and procedures and grant guidelines.
• Provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating professional development, services, and products in the area(s) of responsibility.
• Maintain and organize tracking systems, dashboards, and tools to monitor implementation progress, service delivery, and engagement, with reporting to stakeholders.
• Proactively build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with educators and leaders within the region.
• Provide technical assistance and services as specified by applicable federal grants.
• Participate in center initiatives that support the improvement of student outcomes.
• Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional development, specifically in high need areas such as learning acceleration and/or state initiatives related to improving student outcomes in mathematics.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of ongoing needs assessment and services for Region 4 customer school systems, as necessary.
• Participate in state-level functions related to the area(s) of responsibility, as necessary.
• Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in the area(s) of responsibility.
