Qualifications

  • 3 years documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational environment.
  • Must obtain and hold KT N within 4–6 weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and training to assigned Supervisors, Handlers, Canines, and Accounts.
  • Perform canine training, audits and administrative deliverables as required for assigned Canine Teams.
  • Manage post assignments and schedules for canine handlers, including vacation relief to ensure coverage.
  • Provide all facets of management for assigned Supervisors and Handlers.
  • Schedule and conduct recurring training for recertifications and remedial, sustainment, and advancement training.
  • Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify explosive threats.
  • Perform temporary certified Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog as required.
  • Maintain training records, care, and maintenance of assigned certified canine.
  • Develop and follow established operational and training protocols.
  • Arrange operational exercises to replicate real-life scenarios for canines to work independently in busy environments.
  • Transport, secure, and account for canine training aids, equipment, vehicles, trailers, and assets.
  • Supervise assigned operational staff across North America.
  • Communicate with external and internal stakeholders and proactively propose solutions.
  • Maintain all job-related certifications and required security clearances.
  • Willingness to operate company vehicle and travel 50%+ to contract locations nationwide.
  • Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Manager K-9 CONUS is rresponsible for overseeing the assigned Supervisors, Handlers, Canines, and Accounts to ensure cargo screenings operations are in compliance with TSA and commercial rules and regulations.

PAY TRANSPARANCY/COMPENSATION
  • Pay rate is compensated at $87,000 - 97,000
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide supervision and training to assigned Supervisor's Handler's and Canine's related to operations
  • Perform canine training, audits and administrative deliverables asrequiredfor assigned Canine Teams
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate post assignments and schedules for canine handlers, to include vacation relief that ensure required coverage
  • Provide allfacetsof management for assigned Supervisor's and Handlers
  • Schedule and conduct reoccurring training teams for recertification's and remedial, sustainment, and advancement training
  • Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo andidentify explosive threats
  • Perform temporary certified Handler duties while commanding a trained explosive working dog as required for the program

  • Arrange operational exercisesin order to replicate real life operational scenarios and enable canines to work independently in high population density environments with people moving to and from mass transit environments
  • Transport, secure, and account for canine training aids, equipment, company vehicles, canine trailers, company assets, and resources
  • Responsible for supervision of assigned operational staff throughout North America
  • Communicate within external and internal stakeholders and pro-actively have solutions for tasks
  • Mustmaintainall job-related certifications and required security clearances
  • Must be willing tooperate company vehicle
  • Travel of up to 50%+ to contract locations Nationwide
  • Must work flexible shifts, which may include a combination of hours and locations throughout a 24hr period 7 days a week within your assigned area of operation
  • Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment to field work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outsideand in inclement weather conditions isrequired, and the work schedule will be dictated by the customers agreed upon schedule. Nights, weekends, and holiday hours will berequired, and the work schedule will vary. Travel may also berequired.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • U.S. Citizenship isrequired
  • Minimum of five years of experience training and managing canines and teams in explosive detection
  • Three years of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational environment
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and hold an approved Known Traveler Number (KTN) within four to six weeks of employmentrequired
  • Must have adequate transportation to transport assigned Canine and Crate (inside the vehicle) to/from assigned work location; transportation must have operational climate control
  • Must be able to pass the applicable Contract Testing and Certifications for the program within four to six weeks of employment; candidate mustmaintain the certification requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in solving unique training problems with detection dogs and team and knowledgeable of how to evaluate and apply canine training principles,conditioningand standards
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and a clear driving record for the last three years; must also bemaintained during tenure of employment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry various items weighing up to 100 lbs. Requires standing forlong periodsof time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle oroperate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
