Job summary

Accurate Personnel is seeking a Regional Maintenance Manager (East Coast) to oversee maintenance operations across multiple facilities in CT, PA, and VA. You will lead maintenance teams, drive preventive and corrective maintenance, and support new distribution center start-ups.

The role requires extensive ammonia refrigeration experience, strong vendor management, and the ability to coordinate across locations. On-call coverage and travel across the region are expected.

Qualifications

Job Title: Regional Maintenance Manager (East Coast)

Pay: $90,000 – $100,000

Location: CT, PA, or VA

Note: This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.

Position Summary

The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations across multiple facilities within the assigned region. This position provides leadership to maintenance personnel, manages preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supports new distribution center start-ups, and ensures facilities and equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in distribution center or warehouse maintenance, including extensive knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. This role requires the ability to manage multiple locations, teams, vendors, and competing priorities while maintaining consistent maintenance standards throughout the region.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage comprehensive maintenance requirements for all facilities within the assigned region.
• Lead maintenance-related start-up projects for new distribution centers, including travel, staff coordination, equipment preparation, and facility readiness.
• Conduct routine facility inspections, identify maintenance or operational issues, diagnose problems, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Develop, organize, prioritize, and oversee preventive and routine maintenance schedules for each location.
• Provide direction and guidance to local and regional maintenance teams to ensure maintenance priorities are completed effectively.
• Lead and manage maintenance personnel, establishing clear job responsibilities, priorities, expectations, and accountability.
• Ensure established inspection procedures and maintenance protocols are consistently followed across all locations.
• Coordinate inspections and specialized maintenance activities using qualified consultants, vendors, contractors, and trained internal personnel.
• Monitor facility and equipment conditions to identify potential issues before they result in significant downtime or operational disruptions.
• Manage multiple outside vendors and ensure timely follow-up and completion of maintenance projects and repairs.
• Provide additional regional maintenance support and perform other related duties as needed.
• Maintain availability for on-call maintenance needs and emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience involving mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and/or facility systems.
• Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of general facility maintenance and repair within warehouse or distribution center environments.
• Extensive hands‑on knowledge and experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is required.
• Relevant ammonia refrigeration certifications and/or formal training strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot malfunctions involving electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and facility systems.
• Experience overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility maintenance programs.
• Strong vendor‑management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple contractors and service providers simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and follow‑up skills.
• Ability to manage maintenance responsibilities across multiple facilities and effectively coordinate regional resources.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
• Ability and willingness to travel to facilities throughout the assigned region and support new distribution center start‑ups.
• General Manager or comparable operations‑management experience is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working within distribution centers or large warehouse environments.
• Experience supporting food distribution, cold storage, or temperature‑controlled facilities.
• Regional or multi‑site maintenance management experience.
• Experience managing maintenance teams across multiple facilities.
• Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and associated safety and maintenance requirements.

Position Requirements

This position requires regular communication and coordination with facility leadership, maintenance personnel, vendors, contractors, and other operational teams. A company‑provided cell phone and laptop will be supplied to support regional responsibilities and on‑call requirements.
