Job description

This position is remote on the continent of Africa - 60% travel to our network of hospitals.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Regional Facility Maintenance Coordinator is a skilled technician serving as the regional coordinator for facilities maintenance. Responsibilities include interpreting and distributing regional policies, auditing adherence to standards, and providing reports to the Global Director. The role requires expertise in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Extensive travel to all CURE hospital locations is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Implement and assess network standards for hospital technical activities, including maintenance planning for construction, energy, HVAC/CVC, water, sanitation, and safety systems.
  2. Audit adherence to facilities maintenance standards.
  3. Conduct SafeCare facilities’ audits across the network.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert in CMMS, providing training and support to hospitals.
  5. Audit and support improvements in CMMS data quality and usage.
  6. Provide timely maintenance reports highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  7. Engage effectively with hospital Facility Managers.
  8. Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within maintenance.
  9. Conduct infrastructure audits and Facility Condition Index (FCI) assessments.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  1. Facility Maintenance & Compliance:
  • Preventive vs. Corrective Maintenance Ratio: Aim for at least 80% preventive maintenance.
  • Response Time to Critical Repairs: Measure average response time to urgent issues.
  1. CMMS Implementation & Utilization:
  • CMMS Adoption Rate: Percentage of hospitals fully using CMMS.
  • Asset Lifecycle Tracking: Percentage of assets properly tracked in CMMS.
  1. Training & Capacity Development:
  • Facility Manager Training Completion Rate.
  1. Standardization & Process Improvement:
  • Facilities Policy Manual Implementation.
  • Fire Safety & Occupational Safety Compliance.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  1. Research and propose facility improvements for safety and standards.
  2. Participate in task forces or committees as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Facilities Maintenance, preferred.
  2. Minimum two years’ experience in a skilled trade (electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  3. Experience with maintenance standards and preventive maintenance.
  4. Experience with CMMS software systems.
  5. Training in infrastructure auditing and facility assessment tools.
  6. Experience in developing reports and adherence verification.
  7. Experience drafting maintenance policies and SOPs.

Familiarity with healthcare facilities is preferred.
