Job summary

Saia is seeking a professional truck driver to operate tractor trailers across long distances, delivering freight safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations.

Applicants must hold a valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements and have at least one year of verifiable driving experience. Night and weekend work may be required; pay is per mile with a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• No DUI/DWI or license suspension for moving violations in the past 3 years.
• No chargeable accidents or serious violations in the past 6 months.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Must read, write, and understand English for all job duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor trailers over long distances to deliver freight safely and efficiently.
• Travel regionally and across regions with single, double, or triple trailers.
• Follow pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling and billing procedures.
• Conduct inspections per safety and quality guidelines.
• Hook, unhook and inspect equipment per DOT guidelines.
• Maintain records, logs and load-related paperwork.
