Job summary

ESC-20 is seeking a regional leader to provide leadership, technical assistance, staff development, and support in child nutrition programs across SBP, NSLP, ASCP, CACFP and related areas. You will collaborate with TDA and CEs and lead program reviews and staff training.

The role requires a 4-year degree, 3+ years of management and training experience, and strong knowledge of federal child nutrition programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; major in institutional management, food service, business, nutrition, family and consumer science, public health, education, or other related field.
• Three years of relevant experience required, including management of school or institutional food service operations.
• Three years of experience training adult learners.
• Advanced-level knowledge or skills required in federal child nutrition programs.
• ServSafe or related Food Handler certification preferred.
• Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and Contracting Entities (CEs) in the administration of SBP, NSLP, ASCP, CACFP and other programs.
• Review, develop, and implement program materials and professional development courses.
• Provide technical assistance to each CE according to identified needs and reviews by TDA/USDA.
• Evaluate CE policies and renewals for child nutrition programs and provide recommendations.
• Develop marketing strategies reflecting data-driven decisions.
• Plan staff development for CE participants in accordance with TDA contracts.
• Disseminate program updates and nutrition research at state and national levels.
• Teach compliance and program management courses in ESC Summer Workshops.
