• Promotional: two years of highway maintenance or related experience OR 30 credits plus one year.
• Substitution: trade school or military construction training may substitute for up to one year.

• A valid NY Class A or B CDL with no air brake restriction is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise work crews in safe, efficient highway and facility tasks.
• Observe progress, assign tasks, and instruct crew members.
• Maintain records for time, attendance, equipment and material usage.
• Respond to emergency calls and snow/ice events within one hour.
• May participate in Incident Command System during emergencies.
