Job description

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is seeking a Regional Health & Safety Specialist for Construction to act as a liaison with project teams and field staff. The role involves assisting in preventing, reducing, and eliminating hazardous situations. This remote position is ideal for someone looking to advance into Health & Safety.

How you can make an impact
  1. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of federal and state environmental health and safety regulations to ensure program elements are properly implemented.
  2. Review, evaluate, and update H&S program components, including SOPs and the IIPP annually.
  3. Support and promote the SCS safety culture through training and behavior-based safety programs.
  4. Provide guidance on implementing the H&S program and promote situational awareness and stop work authority.
  5. Ensure employee training on new or modified equipment and processes is developed, delivered, documented, and includes heavy equipment, ATV/UTV use, excavation, trenching, and confined space entry.
  6. Investigate accidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  7. Provide health and safety services on projects, including training and documentation.
  8. Address health and safety issues in offices and at sites, offering recommendations and training.
  9. Conduct annual emergency response drills and maintain emergency equipment.
  10. Lead new employee orientations and mentor staff for up to 6 months.
  11. Coordinate and review Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans.
Qualifications
  1. 7-10 years of relevant solid waste or construction experience, including 3 years operating heavy equipment.
  2. Knowledge of installation and construction of LFG collection systems, well drilling, HDPE pipe fusion, trench safety, and material handling.
Pay Range

USD $72,800.00 - USD $104,000.00 /Yr.
