Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of relevant work experience in state/local/federal government, a public policy organization, non-profit, or other relevant organization.
• Experience in health and/or education policy strongly preferred.
• Experience working with legislators, staff, and other public sector leaders is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Staffs CSG East policy committees and maintains year-round learning and networking opportunities.
• Develops sessions for CSG East's Annual Meeting and Regional Policy Forum, coordinating speakers and logistics.
• Participates in Capitol visits to engage state officials and staff on policy issues.
• Leads the development of policy forums (webinars, summits, peer calls) for topics of interest.
• Builds relationships with legislators and other public sector leaders to support member engagement.
• Fosters partnerships with philanthropy, academia, industry leaders, and peer associations for collaboration and sponsorships.
• Contributes to newsletters and drafts reports, blogs, and policy material.
• Conducts policy research and environmental scanning, and provides concise analyses and briefs.
• Attends conferences and events; may present research and represent CSG East; travel as needed.
• Performs other duties to support the organization's mission.
