Job summary

Houchens Industries is seeking a high-impact regional operations leader to drive day-to-day performance across grocery stores in the designated region. You will lead store operations, merchandising, food safety, and customer service while ensuring compliance and strong financial results.

The role includes overseeing payroll, labor budgeting, scheduling, and cost controls, plus supporting remodels, new stores, and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Multi-unit & Store Manager Operations Management experience.
• Progressive leadership in grocery or multi-unit retail operations.
• Payroll & labor budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling experience.
• Proven track record with remodels, new store openings, and acquisitions.
• Strong financial acumen with KPIs and P&L drivers.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational performance across a designated region of grocery stores, ensuring adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
• Drive operational effectiveness through best practices in store operations, merchandising, food safety, shrink control, and customer service.
• Analyze KPIs (sales, margin, shrink, labor, inventory turns, customer satisfaction) and implement action plans to improve results.
• Partner with Store Managers and District/Area Leaders to identify performance gaps and develop corrective strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including labor laws, health codes, and safety standards.
• Oversee payroll management, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling effectiveness for the region.
• Support remodels, new store openings, and acquisitions with cross-functional collaboration.
• Assist RVP in developing regional operational strategies and leadership development.
