Job summary

Thrive-Pet-Healthcare is seeking a Regional GP Veterinarian to service the Chicago area, with travel within your region and flexible scheduling. This role offers full-time or part-time options with stability and Thrive’s benefits.

You will provide wellness, emergency, and surgical services, maintain records, and mentor junior veterinarians while collaborating with hospital teams across Chicago area hospitals.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent required.
• Active State Veterinary Board license in good standing.
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum GP experience: 3 years or internship + 1 year.
• Surgical and dental experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care including wellness and surgery.
• Build strong client and team relationships.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clear communication.
• Mentor newer veterinarians as needed.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.


• State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.


• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.


• Minimum of 3 years of general practice (GP) experience OR successful completion of an internship plus at least 1 year of GP experience.


• Surgical and dental experience required.

Work Schedule & Travel:

• Full-time: Minimum of 12 shifts per 4 weeks (10-hour shifts).


• Part-time: Minimum of 4 shifts per 4 weeks.


• Travel within a designated region.


• Shifts scheduled 90+ days in advance through our online platform.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care, including wellness, emergency, and surgical services.


• Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and support staff.


• Maintain accurate medical records and clear communication.


• Support and mentor newer veterinarians when needed.

Compensation:

• Shift rate starting at $900 + quarterly production bonuses based on services, products, and OTC sales.


• Bonuses calculated per hospital to maximize earnings.
