Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a Regional Floating Flight Nurse to join our air transport team, delivering high‑quality critical care transport to patients and supporting scene calls. The role offers a starting annual salary of $97,000–$100,000 with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus, a 5 days on/10 days off rotation, and company paid crew housing while on shift.

You will assess patients in critical conditions, collaborate with flight and ground teams, and maintain required clinical certifications

Qualifications

• Three years of Emergency or Adult Critical Care experience.
• Current RN license in the states served by the area.
• EMT and Trauma certifications where required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP before flight status; CFRN within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess situations to determine best action for critical care patients.
• Manage critically ill or injured patients and support physician orders.
• Maintain clean, stocked aircraft environment and perform base checks.
• Communicate with air/ground teams, dispatch, flight crews and facilities.
• Provide shift-change information and document records per protocols.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

REGIONAL FLOATING FLIGHT NURSE INCENTIVES

• Starting Range $97,000-$100,000 annually
• $10,000 Sign-on Bonus payable in two installments following the end of training
• Schedule is a 5 days on/10 days off rotation
• Company paid crew housing while on shift

We’re hiring a Regional Floating Flight Nurse to work with our team of air transportation experts to safely transport patients to and from medical facilities as well as scene call work. Safety, effective and efficient patient care is a key pillar of our services, therefore you’ll work on a quality, professional team that is committed to high safety standards for the crew and our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Flight Nurses will assess each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor and treat patients in critical care situations.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage the critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patient and support physicians’ orders.
• Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well‑stocked aircraft environment, maintains regular equipment and base checks, and complies with safety standards and briefings.
• Work collaboratively and effectively communicate in a professional manner with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities and partners.
• Share shift change info to transitioning team and follow protocols to maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and records.
• Nurses are accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training required for the position.

• Committed to being on‑time, reliable, professional, and meeting our elevated standards in safety and service.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three years of experience in an Emergency or Adult Critical Care setting as a licensed RN.
• Current RN license in the states served by the assigned area.
• EMT Certification & Trauma Certification in state(s) where required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status (NRP certification is provided during New Hire Training).
• Certified Registered Flight Nurse (CFRN) required within 24 months from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior flight experience
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS.
