Job summary

SA Recycling in St. Louis is seeking a seasoned Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance for diesel-powered trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and stationary machinery in our region.

You will partner with the Regional General Manager and GMs to keep equipment safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance planning, budgeting support, vendor management, and coaching shop staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance management experience in related industries.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of diesel engines and hydraulics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and drawings.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities for trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and stationary machinery.
• Partner with RGM and GMs to plan and budget maintenance activities and track spend.
• Schedule preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines and prioritize repairs.
• Coach and mentor mechanics and technicians; monitor work orders and outcomes.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts; ensure cost controls and service levels.
• Assist in budgeting and provide guidance for major maintenance projects.
