Job summary

SA Recycling in the St. Louis region is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance of diesel vehicles, equipment and stationary machinery. You will partner with regional leaders to schedule maintenance, manage budgets, and ensure safety and quality across operations.

The role requires 5+ years in maintenance management, strong diagnostics knowledge and the ability to read technical manuals. Outdoor work and leadership skills are essential; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in maintenance management in metal, mining, demolition, heavy equipment or related industry.
• High School Diploma or GED; two-year technical training or college equivalent.
• 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in fast-paced operations.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repair of diesel engines and hydraulics.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and procedures.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities with focus on safety and quality.
• Bi-lingual English & Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities for trucks, trailers, heavy equipment and stationary machinery.
• Coordinate with regional leadership to plan scheduling and budgeting for maintenance.
• Oversee safety of employees, inventory and equipment; ensure policy compliance.
• Coach mechanics, monitor repairs and manage vendor relationships.
• Authorize contracts and monitor service levels and cost controls.
• Perform post-repair inspections and project installations when needed.
