Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Retail Sales Consultant to drive sales across a defined territory by building long-term relationships with financial advisors and partners. The role requires travel, strong presentation skills, and a proven ability to work independently while supporting team goals.

You will develop territory plans, leverage Hartford Funds solutions, and provide marketing support to advisors, while maintaining compliance and delivering exceptional client experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, sales, or marketing (or equivalent on-the-job experience).
• Must be fully licensed (Series 7, Series 63).
• Must be able and willing to travel 80% of the time.
• Five years external wholesaling experience preferred.
• Ability to build strong relationships as an individual contributor and as a team player.
• Confident public speaker with presentation skills.
• Coachable with integrity and sound judgment.
• Aware of industry dynamics, competition and customer needs.
• Driven to achieve with resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Increase sales and grow territory AUM by calling on financial advisors and hosting events.
• Develop and implement territory business plans with internal sales support.
• Build strong relationships with Hartford Funds’ partners and firms.
• Leverage data and technology to capture sales and market share.
• Provide marketing support and client service to advisors in the territory.
• Maintain deep understanding of evolving market conditions and Hartford Funds solutions.
• Update advisors on industry trends and anticipated client needs.
• Support and participate in conferences and meetings.
• Adhere to compliance, licensing, and prospectus requirements.
• Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner.
