Job summary
The Beaver Excavating Co. is seeking a Safety Supervisor to oversee safety and health for construction jobsites within a designated geographic area, supporting Special Delivery projects.
You will liaise between directors and on-site safety professionals, coordinating responses for Clients/Owners and daily safety needs. Travel is required daily to overnight, covering southern Virginia and northern North Carolina; you will conduct site visits, lead trainings, review JSA and safety plans, ensure
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in construction safety
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Experience with Workers' Compensation administration and Drug-Free Workplace programs
- Willingness to conduct training across various jobsites
Responsibilities
- Oversee safety on multiple job sites in the designated area
- Coordinate safety meetings with Clients/Owners and safety personnel
- Create or support safety documents for submittal
- Support communication between Safety and site supervisors and employees
- Conduct required training and toolbox talks
- Check safety equipment, signs, and barriers for compliance
- Review and audit 811 markings, signs, barricades, and work zones
- Document safety alerts, near misses, and incidents in the field
- Lead safety meetings and ensure adherence to Beaver policies
