Job summary

Babilou Family US is seeking a proactive Facilities Technician to help maintain safe, clean, and welcoming spaces across our Little Sprouts schools. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and professional collaboration with school leadership and vendors.

You will perform repairs, safety checks, and routine documentation while supporting capital projects and seasonal preparations in a dynamic, child-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver2 license with a clean record.
• Ability to pass background and fingerprint checks.
• Proficiency using smartphones/tablets/laptops for work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs across multiple school locations (HVAC filters, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, playgrounds).
• Respond promptly to facility service requests, urgent issues, and emergencies.
• Conduct routine safety and building-condition checks; address issues before escalation.
• Maintain accurate work orders and documentation in approved systems.
• Communicate repairs, timelines, and recommendations with school leadership.
• Support small capital projects and seasonal preparations.
• Represent Facilities with professionalism and service orientation.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do:

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs across multiple school locations, including HVAC filter changes, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, playground equipment, fencing, and landscaping.
• Respond promptly and effectively to facility service requests, urgent issues, and emergencies.
• Conduct routine safety, health, and building condition checks; proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalates.
• Maintain accurate Property Condition Reports, work orders, and documentation using company‑approved systems.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with school leadership regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations.
• Support small capital projects, improvements, and seasonal preparation.
• Represent the Facilities team with professionalism, accountability, and a service‑oriented mindset.
• Other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required & Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass required background and fingerprint checks.
• Basic proficiency using smartphones, tablets, or laptops for work orders and communication.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Regular travel between assigned school locations: regional travel required.
• Ability to stand 75% of the day, lift 50 lbs., twist, lift, carry, push, and pull.
• Ability to kneel, bend, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to use Tools & Equipment such as (although not limited to): Hand tools, Power tools, Ladders, Facility inspection instruments, etc.
• Work performed indoors and outdoors, year-round, in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent interactions with children, families, teachers, and other staff in an active school environment.
• Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required to support operations or emergencies.
• Compliance with state childcare facility standards
• Adherence to safety, OSHA, and sanitation protocols
• Ability to work overtime in rotation.

$25 - $30 an hour

Salary Range: $25.00-$30.00 per hour.
