Job summary

Louisiana State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Extension Agent to support community engagement, capacity building, and local economic development across multiple Louisiana regions. The role involves coordinating with Extension agents, identifying funding opportunities, and delivering trainings to leaders and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, partnership development experience, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to promote

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in extension education, education, agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, economic development, sociology, public administration, public planning, community nutrition, public health, family and consumer sciences, or closely related field is required.
• Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5 (4.0 scale) and 3.0 for graduate work if taken; master’s degree with a 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required; ability to secure external funding and develop partnerships is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Extension agents to support community engagement and economic development initiatives.
• Identify and pursue state, federal, private, and philanthropic funding opportunities.
• Deliver training to Extension personnel and stakeholders; present at conferences; develop outreach materials.
