Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Region Engineer to provide engineering oversight for wastewater, stormwater, and surface water projects across the Hanover, MD region. The role requires a PE in Maryland or nearby states and at least five years of experience assessing sewer systems.

Responsibilities include leading regional projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering technical reports and certifications. Travel up to 20% is expected across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with the assessment of sewage collection systems.
• Experience in design/construction of pipeline rehabilitation is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 20% across the region.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs engineering and technical aspects of projects in the region.
• Defines engineering objectives for assigned projects.
• Analyzes field and analysis data and resolves engineering problems.
• Leads interdisciplinary teams to meet ADS engineering requirements.
• Writes engineering reports and prepares submittals/Engineering Certifications.
• Plans/testing programs and supervises execution.
• Supervises staff and technicians on assignments.
• Provides technical support to Sales for proposals, webinars, and graphics.
• Provides training and mentorship to project engineers and analysts.
• Completes special projects as requested.
