Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 4 years of pipeline engineering experience.
  • Strong initiative with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret technical problems and engage SMEs when needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to field personnel for safe operation and maintenance of Region facilities.
  • Participate in Region safety program and audits of stations and construction sites.
  • Perform duties during emergency response activities.
  • Input to small operating and capital projects; support Special Costs and Capital AFEs.
  • Assist with technical and compliance issues for Pipeline Maintenance Services, Maintenance, and Operations.
  • Support US LP and MP Projects in developing and implementing projects affecting Operations.
  • Collaborate with standards group to align engineering standards and specifications with regional practices.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and services providers.

Posting End Date: August 10, 2026 Employee Type: Regular-Full time Union/Non: This is a non-union position. Strong engineering judgment is critical for safe and reliable energy delivery. We need a skilled Regional Engineer to support regional Operations and Maintenance teams. The role includes solving complex problems, developing engineering solutions, and maintaining pipeline and mechanical systems according to safety and regulatory standards. In this role, you'll directly impact day-to-day operations and long-term capital projects. You will apply your expertise in the field and work alongside the teams who keep our assets running.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide engineering support to field personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Region facilities.
  • Participate in Region safety program and station and construction site audits.
  • Perform assigned duties during emergency response activities.
  • Provide input to small operating and capital projects, support developing and implementing Special Costs and Capital AFEs.
  • Assist Pipeline Maintenance Services, Maintenance, and Operations on technical and compliance issues.
  • Provide support to US LP and MP Projects in developing and implementing projects affecting Operations.
  • Collaborate with technical standards group to ensure engineering standards, equipment specifications, and engineering construction specifications are aligned with regional work practices.
  • Establish working relationships with a cross section of stakeholders within the company, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and services providers.
  • Work with company subject matter experts to assist with the engineering needs of the region.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 4 years of pipeline engineering experience.
  • High level of personal initiative with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred: Ability to interpret technical problems as they arise and understand when to engage technical SMEs.
  • Be able to regularly shift between planned and unplanned activities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with leadership input and meet established deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. This includes the ability to effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders and equipment vendors.
  • Strong written communications abilities, including good spelling and grammar are essential for this position.
Physical Demands (Include but are not limited to):
  • Requires grasping, kneeling, lifting objects up to 20 pounds moderately, reaching above shoulder level, and repetitive motions such as typing.
  • The role involves sitting and standing, with visual tasks like screen viewing, color recognition, and reading fine print.
  • Hearing is also necessary, along with the capacity to remain seated at a computer for extended durations.
Mental Requirements (Both field & office) encompass but are not limited to:
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions or other information.
  • Understand complex problems and explore alternative solutions collaboratively.
  • Coordinate thoughts and ideas into clear terminology.
  • Prioritize and coordinate work schedules on a short-term basis.
  • Make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor effects beyond this area.
  • Follow basic instructions and guidelines.
  • Complete routine forms and compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports.
  • Communicate with individuals by telephone.
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with approximately 10-25% overnight travel required within the region for project work.
  • Occasional work-generated disruptions to off-the-job personal activities.
  • This includes extended working hours during commissioning activities or handling after-hours calls from field staff requesting technical assistance - sometimes on weekends or during nighttime hours. (Approximately 1 to 4 times per month.)
