Job summary

GE Vernova seeks an Environment, Health and Safety Manager for Projects and Services in the United States to lead EHS programs across sites, drive culture, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will audit, train, and implement improvements, manage site staffing, and coordinate safety for high-hazard activities while promoting digital tools and safety initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related EHS field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification such as CHST, ASP or CSP preferred.
  • 8+ years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a Projects or Services environment.
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas, Electrification or Energy business.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, State specific regulatory requirements.
  • Documented 24 hours of safety related education for each of the last three to five years.
  • OSHA 30 or higher within the last 5 years preferred.
  • Ability to work on government projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%, as required.
  • Proven track record working and managing field service sites.
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working relationship with regional operations and project managers to drive EHS culture.

  • Conduct audits aligned with the business plan to identify deficiencies and drive improvements.
  • Manage Safety Data Sheet databank for United States.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure rules, PPE use, and safety devices are in place.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS programs across sites.
  • Identify and develop site-based EHS staffing for assigned sites.
  • Review and evaluate effectiveness of programs for high-hazard operations and maintain accreditation.
  • Promote use of Digital Programs and tools aligned with Hydro Global.
  • Participate in tender reviews, assess EHS requirements and risks for bids.
  • Evaluate safety and environmental risks during bidding and work.
  • Investigate accidents or hazards, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver EHS training as required.
  • Ensure internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and accurately.

Job Description Summary
The Environment, Health and Safety Manager for Projects and Services is responsible for Providing day-to-day EHS support for site activities (service and large project work) across all Hydro in United States.
Job Description

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop strong working relationship with operational and project managers in the region to drive the expected EHS culture across all operations.
  • Act as support liaison for all sites in helping comply with regulatory requirements. Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory and GE requirements. Understand EHS contractual requirements.
  • Conduct audits in line with the business audit plan, with rigor and consistency, to identify deficiencies and drive improvements in the management of EHS.

  • Conduct regular inspections of sites and working methods to ensure safety rules and procedures are followed, that protective equipment is used properly, and all devices necessary for safety are in place, used appropriately and support corporate policies
  • Support the business in driving continuous improvement in EHS programs, and the way they are implemented across sites.
  • Identify, support the hiring of, then manage and develop Site based EHS staffing for sites assigned to them.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate effectiveness of existing programs which include high hazard operations such as confined spaces, lifting operations, high voltage potentials, working at heights and provide recommendations necessary for improvements. Support the region in maintaining accreditation across assigned sites.
  • Drive increased use of Digital Programs and tools across assigned sites, aligned with Hydro Global.
  • Conduct tender reviews and assess EHS requirements and risks, as requested to support the business being successful in gaining orders.
  • Participate in the evaluation of safety and environmental associated risks at the time of bidding and during work
  • Conduct investigations and analysis of all accidents or hazardous situations. Identify trends and causes, as well as follow up on corrective and preventative actions
  • Deliver EHS training to assigned sites population as required.
  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy

  • Trainer qualifications in topics such as CPR/First Aid/AED, Confined Space Rescue, Forklift Trainer

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
