Moving beyond a traditional district beat, you will focus on suburban districts, identify trends across Aldine, Cypress-Fairbanks, Katy and Spring ISDs, and produce accountability

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of journalism experience covering education or related accountability beats.
• Ability to develop sources across schools, districts and community groups.
• Strong written and storytelling skills for diverse formats.

Responsibilities

• Lead education coverage across Greater Houston, focusing on policies and regional trends.
• Develop reporting from major districts and illuminate broader statewide issues.
• Track enrollment, demographics, outcomes, and issues affecting multilingual learners.
