Job summary

PEI Group seeks a Regional Editor for PERE, based in New York or London, to shape editorial direction for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine. You will source ideas, manage senior relationships, and be a visible voice across platforms including events and social media.

You will oversee commissions, copy editing, and news coverage in the global private real estate market, while contributing to newsletters and thought leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

• A built up book of impactful stories in business journalism.
• Formal journalism education or training is a must.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for proprietary analysis writing and exclusive news reporting.
• Experience in social media and multimedia journalism including video, podcast and other online formats is also welcome.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain PERE’s senior relationships in global private real estate.
• Collaborate with Editor, Equity and Senior Editor, Real Estate to determine editorial direction for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine.
• Contribute to the editorial agenda for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine by staying on top of key market news and events.
• Commission articles, edit copy, and liaise with Production on design matters.
• Determine, pitch, research and write both on- and off-diary insights and analysis pieces, including pieces for Special Projects publications.
• Break exclusive news on events in the global private real estate market.
• Write regular commentaries for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine and maintain frequent social media commentary.
• Contribute to PERE’s weekly Blueprint email newsletter with ideas and written items and lead thought leadership initiatives.

About The Role

We at PEI Group are looking for a Regional Editor to join our welcoming, diverse and growing team based in New York or London. The successful candidate will be working on the equity desk of our real estate brand PERE. The successful candidate will be a key source of content ideas for the title, in close collaboration with the Editor, Equity. They will also be a key voice and visible editorial contact for PERE, both via pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine as well as PEI Group's conferences and on social media.

Responsibilities include:

• To enhance and maintain PERE’s senior relationships in the global private real estate marketplace.
• To work closely with the Editor, Equity and Senior Editor, Real Estate to determine the overall editorial direction and execution strategy for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine.
• To contribute to the editorial agenda for pei-privaterealestate.comand PERE magazine in collaboration with the Editor, Equity. To stay on top of key news and events in the market with a view to determining the most important coverage for both formats.
• To commission articles, edit copy, and liaise with the Production team on design matters.
• To determine, pitch, research and write both on and off-diary insight and analysis pieces, as well as, where appropriate pieces for PERE’s Special Projects publications.
• To break exclusive news on events in the global private real estate market.
• To write regular commentaries for pei-privaterealestate.comand PERE magazine and various special magazines as well maintain frequent commentary on social media channels.
• To contribute to PERE’s weekly Blueprint email newsletter, through idea generation and providing written items.
• To chair and write up thought leadership initiatives, including roundtable discussions.

About You

The successful candidate should have the following:

• A built up book of impactful stories, preferably over two or more years of working experience in business journalism.
• Formal journalism education or training is a must.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for proprietary analysis writing and exclusive news reporting in digital and print.
• Experience in social media and multimedia journalism including video, podcast and other online formats is also welcome.
• It would be advantageous to be a keen networker and attend sector events as well as, on occasion, travel for assignments.
• Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.
