Job summary

Nash County, North Carolina seeks an Economic Development Manager to drive business recruitment, retention, and expansion across industrial, commercial, and retail sectors. You will coordinate marketing, site visits, and partnerships with local officials and partners to promote growth and vitality in the County.

Responsibilities include managing projects, grants, and incentives; leading marketing efforts; and conducting research on demographics and industry trends to support business prospects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Admin, Economics, Urban Studies/Regional Planning, Finance, Marketing, or closely related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in economic development at local/state/regional level.

Responsibilities

• Supports Director of Economic Development in implementing Nash County's strategy and annual work plan.
• Coordinates commercial/retail development activities with property owners, developers, and local officials.
• Supports industrial recruitment and expansion efforts, including site tours and data preparation.
• Acts as a liaison to existing businesses through the BRE program; conducts business visits and coordinates resources.
• Manages economic development projects, grants, incentives, and community initiatives from planning to completion.
• Prepares grant applications, proposals, RFI responses, and related materials.
• Leads department marketing, communications, including website content, social media, and campaigns.
• Performs research on demographics, labor force, real estate, and trends; prepares reports and maps.
