Job summary

Birthright Israel Foundation seeks a Regional Director for San Francisco/Bay Area to drive a five-year $950M campaign. You will expand the donor base, deepen relationships, and significantly grow philanthropic revenue in the region.

As a lead fundraiser, you will engage philanthropists and community leaders, manage a robust portfolio, and directly solicit major gifts, aiming for ambitious annual and campaign goals with disciplined execution.

Birthright Israel began in 1999 with a bold idea – offer young Jewish adults a life-changing trip to Israel to build their Jewish identity and, by doing so, transform the Jewish future. Since its founding, Birthright Israel has provided over 950,000 young Jewish adults with a transformational experience in Israel.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This fundraising role is an opportunity to join Birthright Israel Foundation (BRIF) to help drive a recently launched five-year $950M campaign. The Regional Director will be responsible for expanding the donor communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, deepening existing donor relationships, and significantly growing philanthropic revenue across the region.

As Regional Director, you will engage philanthropists, community leaders, and supporters. Success in this role requires strong relationship building skills, disciplined portfolio management, confidence in directly soliciting major gifts, and determination to achieve ambitious goals.

This role is ideal for a high-performing relationship builder who is motivated by both purpose and results and wants to make a meaningful impact on the Jewish future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive Philanthropic Revenue Growth

• Build, manage, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of 100+ investors and prospects capable of giving $10,000+.
• Consistently achieve and exceed annual fundraising goals.

Donor Cultivation & Leadership Engagement

• Steward and deepen relationships with existing investors while identifying and cultivating new major gift prospects.
• Expand the donor pipeline with individuals capable of making five-, six-, and seven-figure commitments.
• Lead the execution of philanthropic events to cultivate new prospects and steward existing investors.
• Identify and recruit local lay leaders to support Birthright Israel’s mission.

Brand & Mission Ambassador

• Serve as a visible ambassador for Birthright Israel both professionally and personally.
• Represent Birthright Israel Foundation with professionalism, passion, and credibility.
