With the Regional Health Information System (RHIS) now successfully launched across all six organizations, the Lumeo team is entering an exciting next phase: stabilizing, optimizing, and innovating through the use of digital tools to strengthen integration, and drive meaningful improvements in outcomes and experience across the region.
The Position
Reporting to the Regional Vice President, Lumeo is seeking a visionary and dynamic Regional Director of Operations to provide leadership for the Lumeo Operations Team by leveraging thoughtful program and resource management practices to enhance operational effectiveness and develop strategies that strengthen both the maturity of the team and the evolution of the systems, including the Regional Hospital Information System (RHIS) and associated third-party platforms. This pivotal leadership role involves close collaboration with CIOs, Clinical Executives, and Directors across the partner organizations to ensure system-wide performance, integration, and optimization efforts that directly impact patient care delivery are delivered across the South East Hospital Cluster. This role is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in Southeastern Ontario, leaving a lasting impact on the communities served.
Key Leadership Initiatives for the new Regional Director of Operations will be to:
Oversee and align the regional Lumeo operations strategy with the Cluster’s vision for unified care standards across the region.
Manage daily operations of the Regional Health Information System (RHIS), focusing on integration, optimization, and efficient support for patient care delivery.
Lead a cross-functional team of clinical and technical professionals, providing guidance, recruitment, and coaching to ensure high-performing operations.
Collaborate effectively with Technology teams, Clinical Executives, Directors, and third-party partners, particularly Oracle Health (Cerner), to support seamless system enhancements and integration.
Apply strong program and project management capabilities to resource planning, task prioritization, and operational delivery, ideally drawing on prior experience as a Program Manager or Project Manager.
Navigate stakeholder dynamics and drive alignment across diverse interests by leading through influence rather than direct authority.
Demonstrate strong financial acumen, managing budgets effectively and understanding healthcare financial drivers. Bring experience working in unionized environments, with a clear understanding of union engagement and negotiation.
Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, identifying risks and opportunities to enhance system quality, stability, and performance.
Experience
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking and strategic leader with a strong record of operational excellence in healthcare technology. They will bring deep knowledge of clinical system operations, including hospital workflows, ancillary support services, and the broader health system context. Experience with clinical applications and systems is essential. A strong background with Oracle Health (Cerner) is highly preferred; experience with other platforms may be considered, provided the candidate brings complementary expertise in program leadership, integration, and stakeholder management. This leader will be skilled at guiding the design, implementation, and sustainment of clinical systems that support strategic transformation and operational effectiveness across clinical settings.
