The Regional Director of Clinical Outreach will develop and execute a comprehensive program to maintain high value relationships between the Hospital and clinicians who have made referrals or are in a position to make referrals to the Hospital’s various clinical programs. The Regional Director reports to the Director of Strategy, with day-to-day supervision and direction provided by the National Director of Clinical Outreach. This position is remote.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Builds a strategic regional growth plan by evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting facility and market utilization data.
- Uses market and/or demographic data available on the web to prioritize favorable markets by economics, age, and population.
- Collaborates with hospital leadership to leverage strategic initiatives. In cooperation with hospital leadership, develops retention strategies for top, maintenance, and new targeted accounts.
- Maximizes available resources to meet or exceed strategic growth goals.
- Develops and achieves goals and timelines for closing new enhanced key account opportunities. Executes sales and retention strategies and plans; successfully closes new business in accordance with pre-determined targets.
- Presents and gains support commitment from leadership for regional growth strategies and plans.
- Completes face-to-face sales meetings with all key accounts and contacts and ensures that a thorough understanding is gained regarding their desires and needs.
- Holds targeted follow-up meetings with all key sources, as needed, to close new and additional business, ensuring that internal and external obstacles to business growth and retention are identified, minimized, or eliminated.
- Prepares and presents monthly/weekly reports or updates as requested, identifying trends, additional business opportunities with existing and new accounts and obstacles to retention.
- Continuously evaluates and modifies growth/retention strategies to ensure optimal business outcomes for market providers and partners.
- Collaborates with admissions to obtain accurate referral source trends. Provides referral source feedback to leverage increased market share for the hospital.
- Performs other duties and takes on other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must have the ability to function optimally in a stressful environment, and the ability to remain calm in emotionally charged situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in healthcare sales, marketing, or outreach.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and best practices.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in developing and executing strategic plans.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the healthcare sector.
- Proven track record of scaling sales organizations, achieving revenue growth, and building strong referral networks.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with experience overseeing geographically distributed teams.
- Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and data analysis platforms.
- Deep understanding of healthcare markets, referral dynamics, and fee-for-service business models.
