Regional Director, Franchise Openings [Dallas, Little Rock, OKC or Detroit]

Join us as the Regional Director, Franchise Openings [Dallas, Little Rock, OKC or Detroit] at IHG Hotels & Resorts.

This role acts as the primary point of contact to support all field processes related to hotel openings, including managing a portfolio of openings or transitions, and leading projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and performance of hotel openings to ensure timely openings aligned with brand standards. The role requires strong project management skills, including managing key deadlines and coordinating with organizational specialists (AD&C, CaRM, etc.) and owner relationships to accelerate opening timelines.

Key responsibilities include building relationships with franchisees through consultations and on-site visits, ensuring milestones for construction and safety are met, and partnering with CaRM specialists to meet critical milestones for rapid hotel ramp-up. The role also involves updating systems to reflect current legal requirements, initiatives, and goals.

Travel: 80%; candidate must reside near a major airport.

Location: Remote; candidates should reside in Dallas, TX, Little Rock, AR, Oklahoma City, OK, or Detroit, MI.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main liaison between franchisees, general managers, and internal teams to facilitate communication during hotel openings.
  • Provide consultation and coordinate activities to meet critical milestones, managing the pipeline and addressing obstacles proactively.
  • Develop and implement procedures for hotel opening timelines, maintaining tracking systems for activities and statuses, and generating reports to monitor progress and identify opportunities.
  • Enhance training programs in collaboration with IHG Training and Operations Support to ensure compliance and address current initiatives.
  • Consult with managerial groups and hotel staff to identify barriers, maintain client relationships, and ensure successful openings.
  • Prepare reports on consulting visits, share insights with stakeholders, and monitor strategic plans for hotel performance.
  • Respond to inquiries from owners and hotel leadership regarding permitting, financing, construction, and opening processes.
  • Support ground-breaking activities and construction milestones through outbound calls and internal coordination.
  • Stay informed about all interactions with hotels and management companies within the portfolio.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hotel Management or related field; CHA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive hotel industry experience, with multi-disciplinary proficiency.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects within a matrix organization.
  • Experience with international or global organizations.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and execution skills for large-scale hotel projects.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, construction processes, and training principles.
  • Proficiency in Property Management and Revenue Management Systems.
  • Proven leadership ability and project management skills.

Travel: 80%; residence near a major airport required.

The salary range is $58,834 - $114,000, with eligibility for bonuses and comprehensive benefits including paid time off, insurance, 401K, and more.
