Job summary

The Law Offices of the Public Defender (LOPD) in New Mexico seeks a Regional Director for Client Services to provide management and operational oversight of district offices. You will guide District Defenders, supervise staff, and coordinate staffing, training, and caseload strategies to advance LOPD’s mission.

This appointed leadership role requires travel across districts (including overnight stays), collaboration with the DCPD, and coverage for docket activities.

Qualifications

• Current license as an attorney issued by the New Mexico Supreme Court.
• Experience in management/supervisory roles preferred.
• Willingness to travel between districts, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Provide management and operational oversight of LOPD district offices and units.
• Develop staffing, hiring panels, and recruitment strategies.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies and state/federal laws.
• Coordinate training and professional development for District Defenders.
• Represent the DCPD at meetings and docket coverage as assigned.
• Travel 50% to work with district offices.
