Job summary

Alta Planning + Design is seeking an East Regional Director of Engineering in Atlanta to lead our expanding engineering practice across the East. You will provide strategic leadership, oversee project delivery, and drive innovation in active transportation while maintaining financial performance.

This senior role requires 15+ years in transportation engineering, 8+ years in PM with P&L, and a PE license. You will mentor teams, guide client relationships, and shape regional growth across offices

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting or public entity
• 8+ years in project management roles with P&L responsibility
• 5+ years in leadership positions managing engineering teams and business operations
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PE license required

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term strategic plans for the East region engineering practice
• Lead regional engineering organization through growth and change with a focus on operational excellence
• Drive innovation in active transportation engineering practices and emerging technologies
• Oversee project delivery across the region ensuring quality, schedule and budget targets
• Build and maintain client relationships and lead business development for major regional projects
