Job summary

Patriot Branding 2026 is seeking a locomotive mechanic to inspect and repair diesel locomotives in compliance with FRA rules. The role involves daily inspections, fault diagnosis, routine servicing, and component replacement using hand tools and precision instruments.

Candidate will travel regionally to support other roads; safety training and background checks are part of the onboarding process. CDL preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Must read gauges and maintenance manuals.
• Must communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must climb and work at locomotive locations.
• Must walk on level or uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain diesel locomotives per FRA and company regulations.
• Diagnose engine malfunctions and perform repairs with hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Perform daily locomotive inspections and periodic services.
• Replace locomotive components and test electrical, air, and fuel systems.
• Travel to support other roads in the region as required.
