Role Mission
The Regional Critical Student Intervention Coach will oversee Intervention and for IDEA Public Schools to ensure maximum student achievement to close the achievement gap for critical students by designing, training, and coaching implementation of processes. The Regional Critical Student Intervention Coach will collaborate with national partners to design, implement processes, facilitate training, provide coaching, and ensure implementation of the Critical Student Intervention (CSI) program across the district in coordination with fidelity.
Location:
This is a full-time onsite position located in the Lower RGV. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectations: 50%-70% travel within the region
Essential Duties
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
- Lead effective CSI DI instruction through weekly CSI DI data packet analysis, written and verbal feedback, joint observations, and in-field and remote coaching (20%0
- Facilitate and/or participate in weekly data analysis calls to provide clear next steps via the weekly data analysis call summary (20%)
- Conduct in field observations, (real-time) coaching and support to school leaders (40%)
- Join reoccurring meetings for region and national to facilitate communication: check-ins/business partnerships meetings (5%)
- Manage and implement region wide systems and processes for CSI at the regional level such as RenStar and DI placement testing throughout the school year (10%)
- Design and facilitate CSI and CSI DI program trainings to teachers and leaders throughout the year (5%)
Additional Duties
- Provide initial grouping and potential regrouping recommendations based on DI placement test results and/or program results at various points in the school year
- Utilize regional newsletters as primary mode of communication to cascade information and/or action items to schools
- Collaborate with the national team members to participate in the design and roll out of all CSI related trainings
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define process and checkpoints for leaders and teachers for registration so that participants enroll in appropriate sessions
- Collaborate with other regional CSI leaders to define process used district wide
- Troubleshoot in person or remotely, formally or informally with school leaders as needed
- Ensure DI materials are procured properly by communication district procedures to campuses for ordering materials

- CSI Direct Instruction Program Knowledge in Decoding A, B1, B2, and C
Required Experience
- Special Education Certification preferred
- Bachelor degree required (Master’s preferred)
- 1-3 years of Critical Student Intervention experience
- District Instruction Trainer of Trainees preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain
- Ability to drive throughout the workday
- Ability to travel between schools and classrooms
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $70,500 and $82,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
