Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including distribution agreements, supplier and vendor contracts, service agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting arrangements, and strategic partnership documentation.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders across international operations.
• Support cross-border transactions, strategic business initiatives, and corporate restructuring matters where applicable.
• Coordinate and manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on legal risk management and support dispute resolution matters when required.
• Assist with employment-related legal matters and internal advisory work.

A fast-growing global medical device organization is seeking a mid-level legal professional to support its international business operations. While the role is based in the United States, the hire is expected to provide support on a global basis.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, cross-border environment and is experienced in balancing legal risk, business growth, compliance, and corporate governance responsibilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with commercial and operational functions on a broad range of legal, compliance, and corporate secretarial matters while helping strengthen governance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions. The hire will provide critical support to strengthen legal infrastructure, enhance compliance oversight, elevate global corporate governance standards, and strengthen risk management.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Due to the global nature of the role, the hire is expected to be comfortable working across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.

This role is part of a department that contributes to the organization’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) objectives.

The ideal candidate is intellectually agile, commercially pragmatic, and capable of balancing legal risk management with operational realities in a fast-moving international business environment.

The individual should possess the maturity and confidence to engage with senior stakeholders while maintaining a solutions-oriented and business-partnering approach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including distribution agreements, supplier and vendor contracts, service agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting arrangements, and strategic partnership documentation.

Compliance & Regulatory

• Support and strengthen global compliance frameworks, policies, and internal governance controls.
• Advise on regulatory compliance, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, healthcare and medical technology, trade compliance, data privacy and protection, antitrust and competition, whistleblowing, employment, ethics, and corporate governance.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and support internal reviews or investigations where necessary.
• Develop and deliver internal compliance training programs across regional business teams.
• Monitor evolving regulatory developments relevant to healthcare and medical technology operations.
• Maintain familiarity with the U.S. healthcare and medical technology regulatory environment.

Corporate Governance & Corporate Secretarial

• Support board and committee governance processes across international entities.
• Prepare and maintain corporate records, resolutions, governance documentation, and statutory filings.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on entity management and governance-related matters across jurisdictions.
• Assist in maintaining corporate governance standards and ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Support governance initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational controls and operational accountability.

REPORTING LINE

The role has a dual reporting line to the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary (Head of Legal & Compliance) and the Group Legal & Compliance Manager. The hire will work closely with regional leadership teams and senior management across international business functions and will have exposure to strategic regional initiatives and governance matters.

REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications & Essential Experience

• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5–10 years of post-admission legal experience.
• Experience handling regulatory and compliance matters, or exposure to such a function.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Corporate/In-house counsel experience, especially in a multinational corporation context.
• Exposure to doing business in the EU and APAC.
• Experience working with Asia-based counterparts.
• Experience building or enhancing legal, compliance, or governance frameworks within a scaling organization.
• Experience implementing GRC initiatives.

Travel

• Up to 30% domestic travel may be required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is depending on experience, qualifications, and primary work location. The position is also eligible for annual bonus and benefits.
