Regional Group Controller – Midwest Region

Supports 7 Plant Controllers in the region.

Remote-based role with 30-35% travel; the remaining time working from a home office.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $145,000 plus 20% bonus

I am currently recruiting for a Group Controller position located in the Midwest region. This role involves working remotely to support 7 plant locations, with each plant having a Plant Controller. The Regional Controller will provide accounting leadership and oversight, ensuring adherence to financial reporting requirements within GAAP. The role requires approximately 30% travel to support the plant locations.

The position will have 7 direct reports, each being a Plant Controller, in a manufacturing environment of building materials. Responsibilities include:

1. Reviewing monthly financial reports and account reconciliations for accuracy
2. Developing templates for process standardization and supporting the implementation of standardized accounting practices across plant locations
3. Hiring and training new Plant Controllers as needed
4. Performing periodic reviews of plant controls to ensure compliance with best practices and SOX requirements
5. Partnering with external auditors and internal audit departments, including preparing year-end audit packages

The ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of experience supporting standard cost manufacturing accounting, with 2 years of multi-site experience preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, and additional credentials such as a CPA, CMA, or MBA are valued. The candidate should have good ERP system experience and strong skills in Excel.

The salary range is $140,000 - $145,000 plus 20% bonus. The company offers comprehensive benefits, including matching 401(k), healthcare, dental, and more.
