Job Details

As the Regional Consulting Engineer, you will be responsible for providing quality service in the areas of consulting, restoration, and salvage for insurance losses involving technical equipment. You will utilize your expertise to perform field investigations, research, and summarize all findings in a report for the client.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct and manage investigations involving commercial and industrial systems, ensuring professionalism, quality, and integrity.
  2. Use technical expertise for analysis and guide support colleagues, ensuring findings are documented and delivered to the client.
  3. Document findings internally and in final reports.
  4. Manage project timelines, documentation, budgets, and overall time management.
  5. Build relationships with clients through communication before, during, and after projects.
  6. Manage vendors/subcontractors needed for project completion.
  7. Research systems, determine component availability and pricing.
  8. Liaise with suppliers and contractors for materials and services.
  9. Conduct equipment troubleshooting and evaluation to determine repair, refurbish, or replace actions.
  10. Establish causes of equipment damage (water, lightning, power surge, etc.).

Claims may involve electronic equipment such as computer networks, medical tech, industrial machinery, telecommunications infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment.

Additional work or projects may be assigned by management.

Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years' experience evaluating failures in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 20% travel, occasional overnight; travel days are Tuesday-Thursday.
  • Experience in consulting or client-facing roles is beneficial.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
