Job Details

As the Regional Consulting Engineer, you will be responsible for providing quality service in the areas of consulting, restoration, and salvage for insurance losses involving technical equipment. You will utilize your expertise to perform field investigations, research, and summarize findings in reports for clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage investigations involving commercial and industrial systems, ensuring professionalism, quality, and integrity.
• Use technical expertise for analysis and guide support colleagues, ensuring findings are documented and delivered to clients.
• Document findings internally and in final reports.
• Manage project timelines, documentation, budgets, and overall time management.
• Build relationships with clients through communication before, during, and after projects.
• Manage vendors/subcontractors needed for projects.
• Research system components, determine availability and pricing.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to secure materials and services.
• Conduct equipment troubleshooting and evaluation to determine repair, refurbish, or replace actions.
• Establish causes of equipment damage such as water, lightning, or power surges.
• Handle claims related to electronic equipment, including networks, medical tech, machinery, etc.
• Perform other work or projects as assigned by management.

Education/Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5 years experience evaluating failures in commercial or industrial settings.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• 20% travel required, including overnight; travel days are Tuesday through Thursday.
• Experience in consulting or client-facing roles is beneficial.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
