Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a strategic and analytical Compensation Specialist to lead regional compensation initiatives across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The role partners with business leaders and HR to ensure market-competitive structures and aligns with DTNA/DTFS guidelines.

The ideal candidate brings strong data-driven decision making, excellent communication, Workday expertise, and the ability to navigate a global matrix environment in a hybrid Charlotte, NC setting.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in HR, Business, Finance, or related field; 5 years of experience or 8 years in lieu of degree.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market pricing, and NA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with organizational design and executive compensation.
  • Proficiency in Workday and advanced Excel/data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a global matrix environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage compensation programs across US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking for pay practices.
  • Support executive compensation planning and governance with HR leadership.
  • Administer compensation including salary offers, reviews, incentives, and surveys.
  • Provide support on executive and sales compensation in alignment with DTFS/DTAG.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Global Compensation and DTNA COE; communicate processes and deadlines.
  • Lead recognition and reward strategy and systems for DTFS North America.
  • Partner on job architecture, leveling, and career paths.
  • Perform data analysis and prepare dashboards for leadership reviews.

Inside the Role

Daimler Truck Financial Services is seeking a strategic and analytical Compensation Specialist to support regional compensation initiatives across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This role will partner closely with business leaders and HR teams to implement compensation structures that drive organizational effectiveness, support talent strategies, and ensure market competitiveness. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, data-driven decision-making, and expertise in Workday.

Regional Compensation Strategy, Execution And Alignment
  • Develop, implement, and manage compensation programs in alignment with DTNA/DTFS combined structures and guidelines across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management and HR leadership to support executive compensation planning and governance.
  • Develop, implement, and administer compensation for the US, Canada and Mexico including salary offers, job evaluations, short and long term incentives, salary reviews and increases and salary surveys.
  • Provide support on executive compensation and sales compensation as needed in alignment with DTAG, DTFS and Daimler Truck North America.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and compensation regulations.
  • Align on compensation initiatives and projects with DTFS Global Compensation team and DTNA Compensation Center of Excellence.
  • Communicate to leaders and employees for key processes, deadlines and changes to the compensation processes and reviews.
  • Responsible for recognition and reward strategy and systems for DTFS North America.
Organizational Development
  • Partner with leaders to define optimal organizational structures that support business performance.
  • Provide guidance on job architecture, leveling, and career pathing.
  • Support the HRBPs in organizational redesigns and structure changes.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting.
  • Analyze compensation data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to support decision-making and leadership reviews.
Systems & Tools
  • Leverage Workday to manage compensation processes, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Support system enhancements and testing related to compensation modules.
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • BS/BA Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field and prefer 5 years of relevant experience or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, market pricing, and regulatory requirements in North America.
  • Experience with organizational design and executive compensation.
  • Proficiency in Workday and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a global matrix environment.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience with compensation in Mexico and Canada labor markets is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Project management/coordinate experience.
