Job summary

Novelis is seeking a Regional CoE Lead - Progressive Quality to drive regional deployment of quality initiatives across a multi-site manufacturing network in the United States. You will build governance, establish owners, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and business targets.

The role emphasizes coaching leaders, applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and leading cross-functional improvement projects with strong data analytics and change-management skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading improvement programs, cross-functional initiatives, or transformation efforts.
  • Experience using data to identify gaps, prioritize actions, and improve operational performance.
  • Experience deploying Lean, World Class Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders and technical teams without direct authority, with strong communication, facilitation, and change-management skills.

  • Drive process ownership across the region by ensuring defined owners and targets.
  • Develop and standardize process controls, reaction plans, quality standards, visual management, governance routines.

  • Monitor process stability, variation, capability, and quality losses.
  • Facilitate structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate defects.
  • Build regional capability through training, coaching, benchmarking, communities of practice, and replication of proven practices.
  • Support audits and maturity assessments, track corrective actions, and elevate barriers or gaps when required.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis Operations Excellence team is seeking a Regional CoE Lead - Progressive Quality. The person in this role will report to the Operations Excellence Senior Manager. The ideal candidate will lead the regional deployment and governance of Progressive Quality, strengthen process ownership and process-control practices, and coach plant teams across a multi-site manufacturing network. This position will improve process stability, prevent defects, reduce quality losses, and build sustainable capability to deliver customer and business requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the regional deployment and governance of Progressive Quality standards, methodologies, and improvement plans across the plant network.
  • Drive process ownership across the region by ensuring manufacturing processes have clearly defined owners accountable for process conditions, standards, performance targets, and the delivery of business results.
  • Develop and standardize process controls, reaction plans, quality standards, visual management, and governance routines.
  • Guide plants in translating customer requirements and product specifications into clear operating parameters and control strategies.
  • Monitor process stability, variation, capability, customer performance, quality losses, and adherence to critical process conditions.
  • Facilitate structured root-cause analysis and corrective-action processes to eliminate recurring defects and performance losses.
  • Build regional capability through training, coaching, benchmarking, communities of practice, and replication of proven practices.
  • Support audits and maturity assessments, track corrective actions, and elevate systemic barriers or resource gaps when required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in manufacturing, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or management-system implementation.
  • Experience leading improvement programs, cross-functional initiatives, or transformation efforts in a complex organization.
  • Experience using data to identify gaps, prioritize actions, and improve operational performance.
  • Experience deploying Lean, World Class Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance, Six Sigma, or similar operating-system methodologies.
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders and technical teams without direct authority, with strong communication, facilitation, and change-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate degree or Master of Business Administration in operations, continuous improvement, management systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a regional or multi-site manufacturing role, preferably in metals or a similar heavy-manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with process capability, statistical process control, process optimization, and manufacturing excellence.
  • Experience establishing process ownership, process-governance systems, control strategies, and reaction plans.
  • Knowledge of overall equipment effectiveness, loss deployment, routine management, maturity assessments, and quality-management systems (ISO 9001/IATF 16949).
