Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking a CDL driver to deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region. You will handle paperwork, load securement, and safe operation of company vehicles.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, maintaining logs, and complying with DOT regulations. The role requires a Class A CDL, physical ability, and flexibility to work varied hours in diverse weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
• No DUI/DWI in the past five years.
• At least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred).
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip, intra-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
• Follow all safety rules and always wear required PPE.
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition.
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time.
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Operate vehicles using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and safety dashcams (training provided).
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, use of sideboard kits and safely ascending/descending of truck and/or trailer.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation per federal and state safety regulations.
• Work flexible hours and be available based on business needs.
