Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Cary, NC, is seeking a regional delivery driver to transport building materials to customers, distribution centers, and job sites using a tractor-trailer. This hands-on role emphasizes safe driving, excellent customer service, accurate record-keeping, and timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A CDL, has 2 years of truck driving experience with at least 1 year on flatbeds, can lift up to 50 pounds, and can work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable).
• 1 year of flatbed experience.
• Willing to strap flatbed loads.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact.
• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment.
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed.
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
