Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a regional delivery driver to transport building materials to customers and job sites. This role requires a valid Class A CDL and prior tractor-trailer experience, including winter driving, with a focus on safety and timely deliveries.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, operate an OB R system, and comply with all DOT regulations while providing excellent customer service. Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CDL Class A required.
• 2 years tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience including winter driving experience.
• Valid Medical Card.
• Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Must be insurable according to company insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transport, deliver, and unload building materials to customers, dealers, and job sites.
• Operate tractor-trailer in over-the-road regional assignments.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and address any deficiencies.
• Maintain safe driving practices and comply with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Assist with loading/unloading and material handling as needed.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service at all times.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay rate starts at $25.00 per hour

Shift: Monday - Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The driver will be expected to transport, deliver, and/or unload building materials to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This is anover the road regionaldelivery driving position.

• Provide and ensure customer-focused activities, deliverables and services.
• Manage daily activities resulting in continuous efficiency and process improvements.
• Perform material handling activities to include loading and unloading material on a trailer by hand, forklift or overhead crane.
• Reconcile material requirements with shipping list to ensure delivery is correct and obtain appropriate customer signatures to verify receipt.
• Collect correct amounts for COD deliveries.
• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of tractor and trailer and have deficiencies corrected if vehicle is not safe to operate.
• Operate onboard recording system (OBR) and adhere to company policies, D.O.T. regulations, and all federal, state and local traffic laws while driving.
• Deliver products during the day through the use of a piggy-back trailer mounted forklift (training available) at customer job sites and locations
• Provide courteous, prompt, and professional customer service at all times.
• Position requires frequent standing, lifting, bending and moving of heavy products (60+ pounds).
• May be exposed to varying temperatures and seasonal climate conditions due to exposure, external of tractor-trailer.
• Inspect and clean vehicle to make sure that all functions are working correctly, safely, and good appearance is maintained.
• Perform cleaning and housekeeping activities.
• Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Provide and ensure customer-focused activities, deliverables and services
• Comply with all safety requirements and use all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer flatbeddriving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Valid Medical Card
• Must be able to drive interstate as business necessitates.
• Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Must be insurable according to company insurance requirements.
• A combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
