Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead fundraisers and expand the donor base across 31 counties in Northern California. Hybrid role with time split between office, field, and home office.

Leading a professional team, you will drive revenue growth, manage donor portfolios, and collaborate with national teams to optimize campaigns. Requires senior fundraising leadership and a track record of surpassing revenue targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 7 years of sales/fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 5 years of management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills; ability to relate to diverse constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of professional fundraisers to strengthen and grow the region's donor base to meet its financial target of over $10M.
• Develop and implement a plan for revenue growth from donors at $5,000+ level, collaborating with the Gift Planning team.
• Cultivate relationships and serve as primary staff liaison for major donors; joint visits with relationship managers as needed.
• Collaborate with national headquarters to maximize fundraising opportunities and ensure region's fundraising success.
• Oversee campaigns, regional reporting, and donor records accuracy in Salesforce.
