Job summary

Furst-McNess Company seeks a dependable Over the Road (OTR) CDL Driver to transport animal nutrition products across the Midwest from Sioux Falls, SD area. The role features regional routes with home weekends and an emphasis on safety and on-time deliveries.

You'll operate a sleeper-equipped tractor-trailer, perform pre-trip inspections, manage log updates with ELDs, and maintain professional communication with customers while upholding DOT and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Ability to operate manual transmission trucks.
• Minimum DOT safety requirements met with acceptable driving record.
• OTR driving experience preferred.
• Willing to travel overnight and stay away from home.
• Proficient with mobile tech, ELDs, and routing apps.
• English communication skills required.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds and move loads with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer to deliver products.
• Transport products and maintain DOT compliance.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections with an ELD.
• Communicate delivery updates and delays as needed.
• Load, move, and unload product with pallet jacks.
• Perform backhauls and return freight pickups.
• Maintain vehicle appearance and safety.
• Represent Furst-McNess with professionalism and customer service.
• Follow safety, food safety, and biosecurity procedures.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
