Job summary

Freeport Transport Industries, Inc. is seeking experienced CDL Class A drivers to operate Flatbed, Conestoga, and Dry Van trailers.

You will transport a variety of freight, ensure timely deliveries, and comply with DOT regulations while handling specialized equipment and secure loads according to industry standards. Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing cargo with chains, straps, tarps, and blocks, loading/unloading with forklifts, cranes, or manual methods, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Minimum of 1 year of flatbed driving experience preferred.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Pass a pre-employment DOT drug test.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors.
• Knowledge of load securement and DOT regulations.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• HazMat endorsements preferred for certain loads.

Responsibilities

• Operate Flatbed, Conestoga, and Dry Van trailers.
• Transport oversized or irregular freight and ensure timely deliveries.
• Secure loads using chains, straps, tarps, and blocks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle safety.
• Load/unload freight using forklifts, cranes, or manual methods.
• Plan routes considering weight limits, traffic, and weather.
• Communicate with dispatch for scheduling.
