Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Tar Heel, NC is seeking a Regional CDL-A Driver to transport and deliver freight across long distances, using late model tractors and 53’ reefers. You will be dispatched to plants and distribution centers, maintaining logs and ensuring safe, legal operation.

Anticipated home time is 2 days per week, with no touch freight and sign-on bonus. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1-year CDL Class A driving experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freight over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
• Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner.
