Job summary

Furst-McNess Company in Storm Lake, IA is seeking a dependable Over the Road (OTR) CDL Driver to transport animal nutrition products across the Midwest. The role involves regular overnight travel, a sleeper-equipped tractor-trailer, and periodic take-home truck privileges based on location and needs.

As part of our team, you will deliver to farms and company locations, maintain DOT compliance, and uphold safety standards while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to safely operate and drive manual transmission Class A CDL tractor-trailers.
• Acceptable driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Previous OTR Class A CDL driving experience preferred.
• Ability to travel overnight and spend multiple nights away from home as needed.
• Comfortable with mobile technology, ELDs, and routing applications.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer to deliver products to customers and company locations.
• Transport products with compliance to DOT regulations and company policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
• Communicate delivery updates, delays, and transportation issues as needed.
• Load, move, and unload product using pallet jacks when required.
• Perform backhauls and return freight pickups as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle appearance.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Report vehicle maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Represent Furst-McNess with professionalism and strong customer service.
